K-League youth leader strengthens capacity with local training in Spain

"2023 K League Youth Leaders Overseas Training" will be held in Spain for 14 days

The Korea Professional Football Federation (hereinafter referred to as the "Federation") announced that it conducted "2023 K League Youth Leaders Overseas Training" in Valencia and Barcelona, Spain, for a total of 14 days from December 1 to 14.

The overseas training of K League leaders aims to create an excellent youth development system by acquiring the youth development philosophy and training methods of advanced overseas soccer and to form a consensus on the development of K League youth policies.

Since 2013, the league has been conducting overseas training for youth leaders in England, Spain, Germany and the Netherlands, and this time, 30 leaders of the youth team under the K League club participated as part of a collaboration with Spain's La Liga secretariat.

The training visited La Liga clubs Valencia CF and Villarreal CF to observe theoretical education and training in each field of youth academies, and attend youth teams by age.

Through this, they shared their philosophy and know-how on the operation of each club's youth academy, and after education, they exchanged opinions through question-and-answer and discussion sessions.

In addition, he visited Smart Football, an educational institution specializing in youth soccer located in Salu, near Barcelona, to learn a training approach based on brain neuroscience.

The leaders who participated in the training expressed their feelings, such as "I was able to learn about the training methodology based on Spain's detailed game model" and "I got new ideas by encountering a nurturing system that focuses on player talent development rather than team performance, and based on this, I plan to apply it to team training."

The federation is working on various international exchanges and educational projects to advance the operating system of the youth academy under the K League.
